Global spending of international tourists who traveled to Spain during last January reached 3.402 million euros, 9.5% more than in the same month of 2014, the best figure for this period since records are made.
According to data from the survey published Thursday Egatur, the entry of foreign tourists to Spain in the first month of 2015 increased by 3.6% from a year earlier, which triggered both the average expenditure per person (1,073 euros, up 5.7%) as generated each day (114 euros, up 8.9%).
Visitors from the United Kingdom, the most numerous, increased their spending by 15.5% in Spain at the beginning of 2015, to 544 million euros.
German tourists, the second by number of visits, also spent more than in January 2014, by 7.8% to 512 million.
France, with an annual increase in spending of 23.2%, and Italy with 37.1% more in January markets were more significant increases.
The single issuer declining market was the Nordic countries, which fell 5.2% as the number of parallel visits decreased and affected mainly the fate of the Canary Islands.
